Something that makes life a bit easier is side income. Side income is generally not as large as your primary income by a long shot, but it ads up over time. Some ideas for side income:
Blogging/Website: Many people have blogs and websites to make money on the side. I have two blogs that I actively work on. Mine have not made me any profit, but have generated enough revenue to pay for their own costs. How do I make money? If you click on that AdSense box on the bottom right (or bottom of some feed posts), I make a little money. I have not yet broken the $100 threshold for payment, but I am well on the way.
Other Websites: I write articles on eHow‘s writer compensation program. This pays me monthly for articles that I have written on the site.
Hobby: Many photographers and artists sell paintings that can cover the costs of their hobby and generate a little income on the side.
Start a Business: Vending machines are a business that can make money for you while only taking an afternoon a week. You can restock and collect your money on weekends and make money all week without even being there. Start up costs are high but it is not hard to get into.
